Farm Life

The Farm is on the second edition of the Canada-Ontario Environmental Farm Plan. The plan provides partial funding for Greg to fence off a spring fed pond to prevent the cattle from wandering into the pond to get a drink. The pond is elevated and the plan is to gravity feed a trough with fresh spring water to keep the cattle hydrated and save electricity by eliminating a need for a pump.

The cattle will be outside any time now to enjoy some fresh air and to have a shower or two.  The corn crop has been planted and now about 2 inches high.  We are part way through planting soybeans but we need a little co-operation from the weather man to complete.

Also after having a energy audit done last year on our home, we are getting the improvements done now.  A new wood stove that is EPA approved and is very energy efficient and to upgrade the insulation in our home
